Kitzbühel

Kitzbühel was founded in the Middle Ages as a copper mining settlement. As with anything of any value, the Romans showed up around 15BC and held their position until about 800AD. After that, Kitzbühel begins its history in the Germanic, Bavarian, and Austrian worlds, often changing from ruler to ruler.

Today, Kitzbühel is a world class jet-setting city admired for its incredible ski slopes that have been home to many Olympian athletes. Kitzbühel is situated at the base of the Hahnenkamm mountain (5616 ft, 1712 m) and Kitzbühler Horn (6548 ft.). The Hahnenkamm is home of the annual World Cup ski races, including the circuit's most important event, the downhill race on the famous Streif slope which is counted as one of the toughest downhill competitions in the world.

The outdoors are where it is at in Kitzbühel, whether in winter or summer there is always something to do.
