BDG Team on Giving

The holidays are a paradoxical time of year. These few weeks are about giving and receiving, hectic schedules and slowing down. Here at BuDhaGirl, we like to celebrate this season, but also to reflect and give thanks for all that we have accomplished over the course of the year. Today, we're talking to a few members of the BuDhaGirl Team about what the holidays and the tradition of giving means to them.

BuDhaGirl: Caryn, What is your favorite quote about giving?

Caryn Grimaud (Sales Guru): “It's not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving." - Mother Teresa

BDG: What is one of your most cherished holiday traditions?

CG: During the holidays, my family and I love to bake our favorite cookies, and prepare special treats. We festively wrap them and hand write a personal note sharing how that person has impacted us during the year.  It's a tradition that started as I was a young girl and I continue to pass it on to my son.

BDG: Which BuDhaGirl piece would you give as a gift this season?

CG: I'd give the Always Lariat in Dove, because it's versatile and easily transitions from day to night. You can wear the Always Lariat with jeans and a tee, a layered bohemian look or an elegant gown - it's up to you!

BDG: Chuck, What's your favorite part about the holidays?

Chuck Roundtree (General Manager): As a kid I always enjoyed the anticipation and excitement of seeing what was waiting for me under the Christmas tree. But as an adult, I now receive more joy through the process of giving.

BDG: How do you define a wonderful gift?

CR: A gift given with love, respect and admiration for another far outweighs the item itself. A gift demonstrates that one individual took the time to stop, concentrate on the wants and needs of another and move toward finding something that fulfills that want or need. It is an act of selflessness and generosity of spirit. When receiving the gift, one should always remember all that went into the process to bring that moment into fruition. That alone is the gift and the item is just the icing on the cake!

BDG: Which BuDhaGirl piece would you give as a gift this holiday season?

CR: This holiday, I'd love to give the Medallion Pendant Necklace as a gift. Not only is the medallion a beautiful statement piece, but it's handcrafted by an artisan in Italy - making it unique and all the more special.
