27 Lessons Learned by the BuDhaGirl Team

With school back in session, the BuDhaGirl Team has been thinking through the lessons they have learned over time - both in and out of the classroom. Lessons are not only essential to growing up, but essential to becoming a wise adult. We've rounded up over 25 of the most crucial lessons we've learned in our years, the golden results of dishwasher mishaps, hard relationships, and crucial phases of self-discovery.

Don’t be so serious.  Life is way more fun when you laugh.

Dish detergent doesn’t belong in a dishwasher.

Check the pockets of your clothes before washing them.

No matter how tempted you are to wear that new wool dress on the first day of school, just remember that it’s still summer and you will regret your decision. While the classroom may be air conditioned, recess is not.

Always buy the shoes. No one needs that kind of regret in their life.

When your father tells you not to touch the bird trap, don’t do it!

When your mother tells you not to kiss an animal you don't know, don't do it!

It doesn't matter whether you try to mount a Shetland pony on the left side or the right (wrong side) he will try to kick you. Get a Welsh pony instead.

Life is more fun with a dog.

Take action toward what you truly want.

Procrastination is never your friend.

Don't give up without a fight. But when it's time to let go, let go.

There is a Universal Law of continual motion that delivers to you what your mind focuses on. Dream, think and speak wisely.

You can't use up creativity. The more often you're creative, the more creative you'll become.

Whether it's your brain, your cell phone or your computer, everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes.

Everyone has a story.

If you don’t believe in yourself, nobody will.

There's no one you speak to more often than you speak to yourself. Speak kindly.

You are the sum of the 10 people you spend the most time with. Choose them wisely.

The first time someone shows you who they are, believe them.

What you allow is what will continue.

Worry is an interest paid in advance on a debt you may never owe.

Be grateful - for everything.

Trust your intuition, it's always right.

It doesn't get easier, you just get stronger.

Be brave enough to take your own path.  The journey is yours, create it the way you desire.

Love truly conquers all.
