BDG Team on "Being"

Cathy: "Being" is as simple as a lizard sunbathing on a rock. To be, we can't stay in the past, or project into the future. The best we can do is to slow down and enjoy what we have been offered in this present moment.

Caryn:  "Being" is an understanding of your character and your presence.  It's how a person behaves, treats others, loves, learns, teaches, and listens. If you have a true sense of "being" than I believe you have a full life.

Bianca: “Being” is being aware of now. Enjoying each day and being thankful for everything I have and what has yet to come.

Julian: “Being” is being present in every day life. Whether that is with myself and the way I feel, or my interactions with others throughout the day. If I am present, I am able to be more engaging with those around me and learn more about myself through that.

Twyla: The other day, in a very mundane situation, I was able to experience a very unexpected moment of pure being. In this moment, I was sitting outside waiting for an appointment that was running late. My phone was dead, there was no one to talk to, I had nothing to fiddle with or to do - I was forced (against my will) to sit on a bench and just be. Being is surrendering. It's about giving up what you think you should be doing, or should be looking like, and settling in just as you are. It's about accepting yourself and your surroundings without any expectations or alterations. Being is about living in the moment with awareness and appreciation.
