9 Reasons Why It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year December 15, 2017 Jessica Jesse Festive Outfits: It's the easiest time of year to get away with velvet dresses, big, sparkling earrings, red lipstick and sequins of any kind. As maximalists, you know we can't resist - more is more! Delicious Food: From cookies to turkeys, wonderful, rich foods are available at every turn during the holidays. They say moderation is key, but from our point of view, we believe the most important thing is to truly savor and enjoy every bite. Time Off: You deserve it. Whether you take this time to read, travel, write, volunteer or simply sleep, the most important thing is that you take this time to do things that you want to do. Childlike Joy: We're surrounded by the pure joy and curiosity of children every day, but during the holidays, it's particularly easy to see and appreciate it. How can you incorporate this simple, joyous attitude into your life? Reflecting: At the end of the year it's only natural to pause and reflect. What did you do this year you are proud of? What goals do you want to set for the new year? What concrete actions will you take to achieve those goals? Gift Giving: A gift doesn't have to be something wrapped up in a bow - a gift could be your time, your ideas... your love. Who will you give a gift to, and what will you give? The Light: The physical and metaphorical light makes this a wonderful time of year. From the glow in the fireplace to having old friends close by, there are all kinds of "lights" to appreciate the next few weeks. Which lights are shining brightest for you this holiday? Celebrating: There are so many things to celebrate during the holidays. Celebrate being together. Celebrate accomplishments. Celebrate the new year. Celebrate the set backs, and celebrate the opportunity to try again next year. Friends and Family: Last but not least, it's the most wonderful time of year because we are reminded to be appreciative of the people around us. These people don't have to be our blood family, or even our childhood best friends. These are the people that make us feel heard and important, the people that support us and love us, in short - our tribe. Don't know about you, but we can't think of a better gift than being surrounded by you, our tribe, each and every day.
