The Beauty of a Rock Pile

“A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.” - Antoine de Saint Exupery

The brain is an incredible thing. One of its many skills is the ability to transform, conceptualize and create. Imagine seeing this rock pile as Antoine de Saint Exupery mentions. Is this rock pile confined to exactly what you see before you? No.

Within each seemingly mundane object, we have the ability to see its underlying potential and transform this matter into something greater. This transformation could lead you to see this mundane matter as art – but only if you so choose.

Imagine how many things you come across each and every day that you deem mundane or insignificant. What is the underlying potential? When and where did you learn to establish the limitations of this matter, and how can you unlearn this habit?

And now… how do you access this limitless imagination? First of all, the limits that you have set for yourself or had others set on you must be destroyed. Next, contemplate. When you can sit quiet and still, removing all noise and distractions, your imagination is untethered by common restraints and judgments, allowing you to transform the mundane and create the impossible as you please. In these moments, your spirit is that of the creator and you are boundless.
