BDG Team: What I Discovered This Summer

Today, the members of the BuDhaGirl Team are taking a look back at the things they discovered this summer. From a powerful quote to a modern art oasis in the middle of the Texas desert, these were the most inspiring things we came across in the last few months!

Caryn: I read the following quote by Gina DeVee: "If you're questioning whether you've got what it takes, I promise you do. There's no such thing has a weak woman." I love this quote because it's all about perspective. When you feel like life hands you more than you can handle, instead of feeling overwhelmed, just take it one step at a time. It might not happen as quickly as you'd like, and sometimes it is messy along the way, but step by step and you'll accomplish the feat before you know it.

Bianca: I'm getting married this fall, and I discovered that planning a destination wedding is far more stressful than I had expected! So far, my three top tips for planning a destination wedding are... 1. Find a good location that has wedding planning services and everything included. 2. Keep your guest list as small as possible. 3. Don't let your mom invite people. (Love you, mom!)

Twyla: This summer, I discovered Marfa, Texas - it's a remote, modern art oasis in the middle of the West Texas desert. This tiny town is about a seven hour drive from Dallas, and is filled with interesting galleries, museums, restaurants, shops and more. The highlights of my trip included the Star Party at the McDonald Observatory, the Prada Marfa store, dinner at Cochineal, the infamous Marfa Lights, and our stay in a teepee at the El Cosmico Hotel.

Chloe: There were a few things I was excited to discover this summer. The first was Hablot Brown's R&B music on Sound Cloud. This up-and-coming Californian artist is very talented and just debuted his first album in 2018. Another thing I discovered (thanks to my mom) was Deepak Chopra's The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. It's a short read, but a very powerful one - everyone should read it. From the Law of Intention to the Law of Least Effort, Chopra highlights easy things to incorporate into your life in order to be successful.

Irma: This summer I discovered a new pineapple peach agua fresca recipe! It takes about 30 minutes to make and is absolutely delicious. Check out the recipe here.
