Simply Marvelous

“It is always the simple that produces the marvelous.” - Amelia Barr

This is really very true with some exceptions like: An Alexander McQueen show, the hall of mirrors at Versailles, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, dinner at Taillevent…I am sure you can think of your own examples in this vein.

But even though at times we seek the experience of excess…we more often seek simplicity.

In a sense, “civilization” has gone full-circle.

Today, modern life is begging us to simplify; to go back to the “simpler things in life.” The true luxury in modern life is simplicity, and that doesn’t mean like I often say: “A rock on a string” for a minimalist necklace. It means, that our choices are learned, that our choices are deliberate, that our choices should please us individually and that these choices, above all give us joy.

Taking the time to truly enjoy the little things around us in our lives and in turn sharing these times with the people we love…that is simply marvelous.
