The Greatest Gift

The greatest gift you can give yourself and others is something not bought in a store: being present.

The complete act of presence is unique. Nowadays it might even be considered a super power.

The ability to pause; make the conscious decision to stop unnecessary activity both physically and mentally and completely devote yourself to your moment of being and loving the moment fully, is an amazing experience. When you do this with another person, when you truly focus on being with them, listening with your heart and not over-processing with your brain you and they will walk away replete. A sense of fullness and of using time correctly will linger much after your encounter.

Anyone can give the gift of being present. It takes wanting to do so, like all things in life. It takes breaking routines and habits. It takes removing our sense of ‘perceived self-importance”, which doesn’t feel so great. It takes taking a risk at maybe experiencing or listening to something hidden that might disrupt our current vision of the world. Scary.

The benefits of being present are never ending. I liken it to being on a permanent vacation. Everything is more vibrant, music is richer, colors explode, taste evokes memories, and brain connectivity creates stronger links.

How do you begin being present?

Try our Mindful Glamour Ritual: Pause. Then, create your intention for being present, then Go be it, become it, be present. His Holiness the Dalai Lama says: Critical thinking is the best meditation, know how you fit in the world, and then we must follow it by action.

Simple.

Hugs
