How Reminders Work
BuDhaGirl created Reminders™ to carry your intention for the day. This is based on our principle of Mindful Glamour, turning routines into rituals.
Everyday we make decisions. Countless choices that oftentimes are done automatically and no longer with focused attention. Our brain likes to do that because in its goal for self-preservation the more it can automate things, the more it conserves energy.
What happens next is this automatic behavior makes life bland. Our full sensory perception is no longer acute and ready to perceive subtle differences. Simple things like bathing, making tea or coffee, dressing, driving, all become a routine.
Reminders™ work so that you may experience life in Technicolor. Our simple mindful glamour ritual of: Pause. Be Aware. Go, Be it., is all you need. It works by taking these three tasks and making them active. Here is how:
The first step is to Pause. It is a verb and an action that means stop. It is not a long period of time. It means to stop the inner chatter and make your brain calm so you may then:
Take the second step and Be Aware. Being aware means you are focused and about to consciously decide on your next behavior, that of creating an intention. Your intention now is clearly defined and recognized because your brain is quiet and focusing on this particular task.
The third step is to Be it. More like go and Be it. Make that intention a reality. Sometimes the intention is simple, so that it can be accomplished in one task. Other times the intention can be a part of a larger process.
Reminders™ are beautiful representations of intentions. They are little tablets that you wear or carry with you during your day to precisely what their name says; remind you of your intention.
