Cupid For A Day
Some might think that Valentine’s Day is just an excuse for the over-commercialization of chocolate, roses, and jewelry (BTW you might not be too wrong). But what if we turn Valentine’s Day into something really special, what if we all decide to become Cupids?
Yes, what if we become the messengers of love? What if this coming Friday, February 14, we make it our intention to live in love, and share it with others?
So, what does that look like? You as cupid.
Well, let’s see maybe your morning meditation would be to reflect on the great loves in your life, past, and present. Living in gratitude for having those loves. Then, practice a bit of self-love…stretch, feel what it is like to be in your body. Breathe, fill your lungs with life energy and as you do so make your mantra for the day: I will live in love today. My thoughts, words, actions will arise through love, only through love.
Wear pink. (It’s more fun than red.)
As you approach your day, make sure that you make everyone feel special, say something nice, pay compliments, perhaps make a special call to someone just to say you are thinking about them, how about paying extra attention to the people who make your life better each and every day…give them an extra “I really appreciate everything you do.” Then, make your colleagues feel special, tell them what you think their superpower is. Treat yourself at lunch. Maybe treat someone to lunch. Kill it at work.
Time to end your day. Hug those very special people around you. Kiss your sweetie. Have a pink cocktail or mocktail. Have a fun dinner…don’t over-think it.
Then as you begin to unwind, reflect on your day. You completed your day as Cupid and you didn’t spend a dime. Think about the joy you gave, then think about how you feel, how it makes you feel to act from a place of love. Maybe we could make it Valentine’s Day every day?
