Change of Pace

Working away...and loving it!

Working away...and loving it!

I am seriously trying to slow down...and the world too.

By being in a quiet frame of mind I (we) can accomplish more than when I (we are) am frantic and the quality of my (our) accomplishment (s) is better. My husband often says, "Don't confuse accomplishment with activity." He is very smart.

I see people constantly busy, fretting because time escapes them. A bit like perpetually being the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. Phew.....what a way not to live.

When entering a meeting or beginning a project I now ask everyone present to take a moment and Pause. Be Aware of why we are together and what we are trying to accomplish. Then Go, Be it. Do what we are tasked to do. Now we are all operating with a deeper understanding and a stronger human connection. This makes our work together infinitely more enjoyable focusing as much on the journey as in the outcome.

Changing our pace is difficult when the world is always asking for us to do more. Yet understanding that by being stressed and unfocused, simply going through the motions will eventually burn us out. We will look back and ask...where did my life go? I was so busy I did not stop to enjoy it.

So...hang loose a bit. No need to grasp so tightly. Take a breath. Smile.
