Back To School
Well, well, well…who would have thunk it?
If you would have told me that I would be writing a blog about the effects of a global pandemic on going back to school, I would have bet against you. I still can’t believe I am writing this.
Here’s my take-away:
Education as we knew it will never be the same again.
We will question the educational system that is based on centuries-old processes.
We will enhance our understanding and acceptance of the use of technology to teach and to learn.
Teachers will be forced to excel.
Parents will have a more intimate understanding of what is being taught to our children.
Testing will change.
College is not for everyone. (I have been saying this for decades.)
We will create learning spaces in our homes.
The health and safety of our children will require new guidelines and new awareness.
Don’t ever take anything for granted.
I hope and pray that the year 2020-2021 will be free from disease, fear, and hopelessness. I wish for all children to be safe, to be cherished and treated as the leaders of a new generation. A generation based on compassion, reality, pragmatism, kindness, economic prosperity, faith, and the concept of hard work, perseverance, and the dedication to become better, each and every day.
