Where Am I Me?

“Where am I me?” is an interesting question…for aren’t we always “me”? I mean technically we are who we are. Right? I mean we are not someone else.

However, there are different versions of ourselves that we have learned to create. These versions unfortunately many times do not allow us to be truly present, they don’t allow us to love ourselves, and these versions many times bring us unhappiness and suffering.

I have truly been there and done that. I have been on the carousel of the difference Jessicas. The versions, like the pretty horses on the carousel, that go up and down but never really go anywhere. No more.

Through my BuDhaGirl journey, I have come to realize that there is only one me and that I better like that me. I have also learned that I can be a different thing to different people, I can look different from occasion to occasion, I may even change my mind at times, but ultimately, I come home to me. And that is where we need to be: home.

Home is a place in our minds. A sacred place where there is compassion, kindness, and release; a haven that allows us to rest and soothe ourselves so that we may regenerate our spirit. Arriving home to yourself is critical because when you do; you can be anywhere and do anything. You are safe because you know who you are at all times.
